Apr 29, 2019 - Texarkana Tx/Ar to Forrest City, Arkansas

Started my day by stopping at the Ace of Clubs House Museum. I knew it was closed on Mondays but thought I would be able to get a good look at the outside. As you can see from the photo there are gates at the front and brick walls all around. Disappointing. This house is interesting because it has 22 sides and is shaped like a club from a deck of cards. It was built in 1885 for $10,000 - money said to be won in a poker game with an ace of clubs. Three families lived in the house. The last owner was there from 1942 to 1985. The woman deeded...

We are now at the Delta Ridge RV Park. This was a great place to stop for the night. Gary, the manager, was super nice and helpful. The park was very clean and quiet. A very convenient place to stop on a very long trip. Tomorrow will be headed to Mammoth Cave National Park.

Nov 8, 2016 - A little rain

I have to mention this cafe that we stopped at in Forrest City, Arkansas. We took a chance with the lunch buffet there and were rewarded with and outstanding home cooked meal. True southern cooking at its finest. Fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, hominy, and everything in between which we both loved. After lunch we waddled back to the motorhome and could have taken a nap! We made record time to Houston where we wanted to look at a motorhome at PPL consignment lot. We were excited to see this RV and were sadly disappointed upon seeing it. I...

Oct 22, 2013 - Forrest City, AR - Delta Ridge RV Park

It was a boring 237 mile drive along I-40 from Van Buren to Forrest City, AR with only a stop to give the Mothership a drink - she was starting to get dry since we hadn't filled up since just before entering Texas and she took almost 80 gallons of liquid gold. Since we were on the interstate there wasn't much to take pictures of. We are staying at the small Delta Ridge RV Park just off of I-40 in Forrest City. It only has 18 sites and about a third of them are being used for highway construction workers. We have a 50 amp full hookup site...

Woke up to rain in Oklahoma-one of the few days where it rained all day. We cut down to I40 and were in Arkansas by lunch. Just drove all day, nothing exciting to do or explore. Yukon has been a great traveler for the most part although we did make an emergency pee stop. He is on a regular schedule of getting up to eat his breakfast of hot dogs, Mac and cheese, and wet dog food. Then he gets in the truck and looks out the window all day until suppertime, a repeat of breakfast. We're ready to get off the road since its 6 pm! You know you're...
