We left Schulenberg Texas nine-ish this morning, traveled northeast through Texas, and have stopped at DeQueen Lake, DeQueen, Arkansas. DeQueen is about two hours south of Ft. Smith on Highway 71. DeQueen Lake is a Corps of Engineer's Lake, small, made for flood control. Two years ago when we stopped here part of the campground was flooded. This year the lake level is at normal. The campground is nearly full as it is at the height of crappie season. We have enjoyed watching the countryside change, from cacti and mesquite, to cattle country,...
