Since we left Louisville we have had three 2-day stops; the first being Calvert City, Kentucky. Calvert City is in the northwestern portion of the state not too far from Paducah. It is a small town of only 2,500 people with the main industry being chemical plants. We stayed at very nice KOA, one of the best we have ever encountered during our 13 years on the road. We ventured out on a day trip to the Land Between the Lakes, 170,000 acre area of land between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. There is a 50 mile road that traverses the park...

New Adventures 2020

May 31, 2014 - Visiting family and friends

HAD A GREAT TIME IN ARKANSAS WITH THE KIDS AND GOOD FRIENDS RONNIE & DONNA. THE WEATHER WAS NICE ENOUGH TO WAIT UNTIL WE LEFT TO GET BAD. We stayed at Denton Ferry RV Resort which is a beautiful park right on the river. Missed a couple pictures so am sending this again.

Sep 11, 2009 - Ozark ferry

Our first look at Arkansas - Friday, September 11 A year ago today we were in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Today we’re in the Ozarks. Talk about culture shock! We checked out of our Springfield, Missouri campground and got on the road south. We debated going through Branson, but decided against it. Instead we headed farther east and took the back roads through the Mark Twain National Forest down to Arkansas. Our destination is Memphis, and we’d rather see some back country than a lot of touristy stuff. I’m not sure what I expected of the...
