Oct 10, 2010 - Marking time in Arkansas

When last you heard from us we had finally arrived in Cabot after spending a harrowing trip back to Arkansas from Pennsylvania. That was in July and we were parked in the RV port at our rent house, planning to stay there, doing some work in preparation for selling that house. We had listed the house a few months before, while the renters were still there, and had little response. After they moved out we decided to do some cosmetic work to boost the potential for selling the house. Had the interior repainted, had a brick mason make some...

Jul 23, 2010 - Back in Arkansas

We made it back to Arkansas on Monday, July 19. But getting here from Nashville was another story. We spent another night on the Cummins lot, finally getting away from there late on Thursday afternoon. What did they do to fix the problem? One thing was that the sensor sending temp to the gage was some 15 degrees off. So the coach was not running as hot as the gage was telling me. Replaced the sensor. However, the test run still showed the temp was running hot. But, the alarm did not go off, so maybe the problem was partially that. Anyway,...

Jun 20, 2009 - Day 16

Boy did we ever find the hot weather, coming from 2 weeks of cool to down right freezing weather to the hot box of the south. Freeway driving and crosswinds of Oklahoma made for rough riding along with the hot tempertures. We ate lunch in Chocoetah, OK (hometown of Carrie Underwood) and then headed to AR. We stopped for gas at Ozark,AR and it seemed like the temperture was hot but not unbearable, but when we started back on the freeway I began to feel sick and really hot. By the time we got to Russellville, I nearly passed out. So we...

Oct 3, 2008 - Cabot, Arkansas

Today, we traveled through the beautiful Ozark Mountains from Missouri into Arkansas. This countryside is absolutely spectacular. The vines and bushes have turned various shades of red. John thought it might be Poison Ike and Oivy. The trees are all still green but I remember that come winter, all of the leaves will be gone and the trees will be bare. It is hard to imagine because it is so lush and green now. It was foggy in Forsyth when we left, but when we got to the tops of the mountains, it was clear and all of the fog burned off before...

Pretty Damn Nice!

Jun 4, 2007 - Getting ready to go again!

May 22-June 3 Not much to report other than we had our FINAL and forevermore LAST yard sale this past Friday and Saturday. We still had stuff in our storage building here at the house we are attempting to sell, as well as some furnishings inside. Plus, I had a shop full of things: power tools, table saw, drill press, band saw, scroll saw, and lots of other stuff. So I wrote up an ad for the yard sale and got it to the paper on Monday for the weekly edition that came out on Wednesday. So, did they get it right? Of course not. They omitted...
