Sep 21, 2016 - Arkansas,Westbound

Steve got up early to bake bread then we hit the road. It was a short ride today, only 270 miles to Benton, Arkansas, just south of Little Rock. Arkansas I-40 was awful, so bumpy, everything was shaking. Bread was good! We stayed the night at JB’s RV Park. It was a bit rustic but had long pull-throughs with 50 amp and water for $27. (Full H-ups would have been $30.) As soon as another RV parked next to us, we started having power problems. It is too hot to be without air. The host was very concerned and called an electrician. All was well...

Well George has made a miraculous recover from his pnuemonia and heart trouble. It was nothing short of a miracle. We all have reasons to thank the Lord everyday for watching over each and ever one of us. So we have started our track to our 2nd home in Brandenburg KY. We are going about 1 1/2 month earlier than normal. I had told my sister I would come back early and help with dad,s stuff and taxes. We left this morning and traveled 422 miles. When we left Texas it was 76 degrees and a good travel day.

Don't wake me up

Oct 2, 2015 - Benton, AR

Departed Caddo Mills campground on 10/1, 8am, after discovering at the last minute that I made a 100 mile calculation error in the itinerary for the day. The good news is the error was in our favor. We arrived in Benton, AR around 2pm. It is all good. We needed the rest. L slept ten hours last night. It's on to Memphis next, a short 150 miles today. What a deal. Cheers, Ned

May 16, 2014 - The baby!

Friday West Memphis, AR to Benton, AR 147 Miles I-30 RV Park Ron was feeling well enough to make an escape to the next stop – to visit David and Justin and see the little grandchild. We left around 11am, made one rest area stop, got to the RV park, setup and went to grab a bite to eat around 3pm. David is working nights so we only had the opportunity to visit with him for a short time and play with the baby for a little while. A quiet evening at home, a little rest and we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Mar 24, 2013 - Benton, Arkansas

We left early this morning so we could travel through the Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex early on a Sunday morning. Cruised right on through without a problem. We passed right through Duncanville, TX where my sister, Janet, lived in the late 50's and early 60's. We also passed through Sulphur Springs, TX where my sister, Doris lived in the same time frame. I have been to both cities as a child but nothing looked familiar - only 50 years later, eh? We are just a little west of Little Rock, Arkansas at this time. We are staying at a small RV...

Trek Wanderings

Sep 3, 2012 - home minus 3

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend and didn’t celebrate too much. We left Benton, KY about 1000 and pulled into Benton, AR about 5 pm. Benton, KY was still receiving the effects of Hurricane Isaac when we left this morning, but by the time we reached Dyersburg, TN the sun was out and it was starting to get quiet toasty. The rest of the trip into Benton, AR was uneventful. After checking into the RV Park and setting up, Phyl cooked a quick dinner and now we’re just trying to chill, not sure, but think the temp is mid 90s, at least in...

Jan 4, 2010 - Benton Arkansas

January 4 2010 Benton Arkansas Benton was formerly named Bentonville and was established in 1837. The current population is about 27 thousand and is ranked as the 16th largest city right behind Texarkana. Benton was first settled in 1833 and was named after the Missouri Senator Tom Benton. Not too many senators nowadays have a city named after them. Maybe they could name the city dumps after the current US Senators. The I-30 campground is the same one we stayed in last year, and it will be the last time. The campground is more of a trailer...

May 1, 2008 - Kaden's Band Concert

On Thursday morning, we made ham and biscuits for them when they came in from checking their lines. Everybody fishing seems to go out before 6:00 or 6:30 in the morning. We usually aren’t even up! Hehehehehe! On Thursday, we left mid-morning to drive to Bradford to see Donald’s dad, then to Little Rock for some shopping, and finally to Benton to meet Ron and Kaden, Kay’s son and grandson, respectively. We went to Chili’s for a quick supper and then on to the school for Kaden’s band concert. His 6th grade band played 4 songs. They did a good...
