Jun 22, 2012 - Ashdown, Arkansas
The route we took from Fort Smith to Ashdown, AR, is a designated scenic route and it was a beautiful drive. Our time in Ashdown was spent doing almost nothing. The pool was a short walk, so we swam every day. We'd seen most of the sights in the area on our last visit here and couldn't find anything within a short drive that appealed to us. Because we were there over Memorial Day, there were a lot of families at the campground. We had a good time watching too little (and I mean little) boys play with their golf set. They were so serious...

Apr 23, 2011 - The theory of relativity
Apologies to Albert E. but I have my own theory. If you are one of six and your father had 10 in his family and your mother had 13, then you have A LOT of relatives. And that is the case with Shirley. Sorry for the delay in posting, poor to no Internet access at yesterday's campground. So I go back to Thursday. We spent a delightful day with Shirley's cousin Becky and her parents Uncle Bob and Aunt Pat VanDuzer (but Becky calls them mom and dad). The plan was to have them all out to the campground for lunch but it was raining. So we went...

Nov 15, 2010 - it's beginning to look a lot like. . .
Maryland! Deciduous trees in fall colors lining the interstates, grass in the median strip, normal-looking houses -- I guess we must be getting close to home! Had a great time with Denne and Denice, great food, conversation, relaxation, we're so glad we were able to stay there for a couple of nights! We left (after considerable drama getting the trailer turned around to head back down the driveway, but I'm not going to tell any stories -- if you've been to Sweeney's you know the challenges!) around 10 a.m. following a great breakfast. The...

Mar 17, 2010 - Ashdown Arkansas
Beautiful morning some what warm and sunny. Left around 9am arrived in Ashdown around 5pm. Nice park wasn't fully opened yet. They were still on there winter sites. Had a little frost in the mornings, but by afternoon it was warm. We went into Hope Arkansas and visited the home of Bill Clinton. It was very interesting. I learned so much more about that man that I didn't know about. We watched a video of him and you could tell he loved his family very much. It was very enjoyable. Pictures to come hopefully in the next few days. We left there...

May 7, 2009 - Back At Home Base
BACK AT HOME BASE – LUBBOCK, TX It was such a fantastic vacation from winter in the Rio Grande Valley. The people we met and the experiences we had there were all such a blessing. To God be the glory for the reality of our retirement dreams. We left Lakewood RV Resort, Harlingen TX on the 17th of April. We made a stop over in San Antonio for some service maintenance on the Alfa however the weather was worsening on the roads ahead toward Arkansas where we were heading next so we decided to forgo the service work and head on out the next...

Nov 25, 2008 - Ashdown, AR - Millwood Landing & Golf
At Millwood Landing and Golf Resort we walked out the door of our coach and on to the golf course. There were a lot of hills so it was a good cardio workout. Brother Bob had read about Millwood Lake in his bass books so we had to get a couple of pictures. We were about a mile from the landing. We met a couple at the library from Two Harbors,MN. Wouldn't you know it, they knew Pepe'. We got together for a potluck and taught them how to play Hand 'N Foot. We will stay in touch and hopefully see them again. Ofcourse we had to go to Texarkana...
