Mar 4, 2019 - Arizona weather has finally arrived...for now...
Since we have been in Arizona (since mid December) the weather has teased us with warm days then it has always cooled off...but, for this week it is warming up. It has been into the 80's the last few days and will warm on up to the mid and upper 80's in a few days. By the weekend it will cool back off to the upper 60"s for about a week. Now the secret of knowing if it is Arizona weather is when the local folks start acknowledging that rattlesnakes are now being spotted. That is now being done. Huh-oh...that means I will have to start...Jump to full entry
Mar 4, 2019 - The nice weather has returned...
Finally, the weather has gotten nice again. It started to change last week. Yeah!! I know that our friends at home may not be sympathetic, as they still have remnants of snow. But we are down here for the nice weather, just in case you were wondering. So what's been going on with the Kramer's, you ask? Well, due to the weather it has been mostly inside activities. It has been cold, and wet down here. On February 16th, Butch, Julie, and I, went to the Foothills Founders day parade. It was cold and windy so we wore our hats and coats....Jump to full entry

Due to the popularity of this RV Resort we are a long waaaay down on the waiting list for next year. Thus we are now looking to find another place for next year. Oh well as nice as it has been here...nothing lasts forever, sigh. The weather here has finally warmed up with us being in the high twenties all week. It has been a long cold few weeks here with everyone bundled up in warm clothes.Todays high will only reach 25C but that is just fine with us! Marg & Kerry dropped by for a few days and we had a nice visit and taking in another trip...Jump to full entry
Mar 2, 2019 - Loud Friday and slow Saturday
I slept in until about 7:00 on Friday. I am beginning to be able to stay in bed later that the 5:30 I was accustomed to for all those years. But it was only 10 minutes premature to what would have been my wake up call. The Marine Corps Air Station went into full gear about 7:10. I heard jet engines for jets of all sizes roaring until just after 7:25. Now is the time for all of you readers to remember that the MCAS is 4 miles away from our resort. The jets were loud...damn loud. So now that I was wide awake I decided to have breakfast prior...Jump to full entry
Mar 2, 2019 - Yuma Territorial Prison
THE "3:10 TO YUMA" STOPS HERE!!! On July 1, 1876, the first seven inmates entered the Territorial Prison at Yuma and were locked into the new cells they had built themselves. Thus began the legend of the Yuma Territorial Prison. A total of 3,069 prisoners, including 29 women, lived within the walls during the prison's 33 years of operation. You don't have to wait until 3:10; the park is open from 9-5 daily, stop in and take a walk through a big piece of Old West history. The Yuma Territorial Prison is a former prison located in Yuma,...Jump to full entry
Mar 1, 2019 - Date Farm Tour
Took a tour of a working Date Farm with my Montana friends Chuck & Patti Renevier. WOW, what a learning experience. The process of raising, caring & harvesting Dates is very LABOR intensive. End of the tour was topped of with a Date Shake, YES, as in milk shake. Highly recommend this habit forming desert. Martha’s Gardens Medjool Date Farm was founded in 1990 by Nels Rogers and his wife Martha. The farm originated on a parcel of desert land on the Yuma Mesa overlooking Yuma’s beautiful Gila Valley, located 10 miles east of downtown...Jump to full entry
Feb 28, 2019 - End of February and the Arizona weather has arrived ! !
The end of February and I was told yesterday the locals say this has been the coldest winter in 20 years. BUT...cold is relative. Back home they have had snow and freezing rain and so much rain they are growing webbed feet. Some of our neighbors are talking with their families (mostly in Canada) and are talking temperatures in the minus 40 range. So our cold days of upper 50's is not too bad. But starting on Monday of this week, Arizona weather has arrived and the forecast is great. Wednesday was to have been a trip with our friends from...Jump to full entry
Feb 26, 2019 - The weather is better
Sunday was a pretty day and warmer still. The winds were down from the last few days. We visited here in the park with a few folks and drove and walked around to look at possible sites for us to return next winter. We have really enjoyed our time here and are sure this is where we would like to spend at least another winter here in Yuma. We then went late to the Yuma Swap Meet. I have included a few pictures of the thoroughfares and how crowded they were and some of the variety of items. It is something we will have to go to again and...Jump to full entry

Feb 23, 2019 - Mexico and then sunshine
Friday started early for us. We were up and going around 6:30 a.m. (for Bub) Our goal was to leave for Los Algodones by 8:00. We got around quickly. I left with Ziva a little after 7:30. This is a little earlier than most days and as I had expected, no other dogs were in the Dog Park. After about 10 wasted minutes another dog came through. Kiza is about a 100 lb Rottweiler. As friendly as can be and almost ignores the other dogs. She was in and out in three minutes with all her business finished. Ziva took that as a hint to go take care of...Jump to full entry

36 inchs (91 centimeters) of snow fell in Flagstaff last night. Of course it is sitting over 6000ft and belongs there. Another cold snowy adventure awaiting us ....we hope not, I have not worn shorts in a month BRRRRR!! Stay tunedJump to full entry
Feb 21, 2019 - Not much going on...
Well, if I had to describe the weather the past several days is Yuk! ! Whether it has been wind, cool or rain, it can best be described as Yuk. Sunday was windy and cool so we just settled in and watched the PGA golf tournament in Los Angeles. We started with the early morning coverage and stayed to the very end. It was most interesting to see the pros play like amateurs in the late going, be it weather or fatigue but they played less than their best. Monday was a golf day in Wellton and I was gone from 10:00 until about 4:30. Sue took...Jump to full entry
