Mar 21, 2018 - Kramer's Rib Fest 2018
We finally finished painting and unpacking all the boxes from home. We decided to celebrate with inviting our friends and neighbors over for a Bar-b-Que. Baby back ribs, potato salad, beans, coleslaw, bread, texas fudge and cookies were all on the menu. Everyone brought something good to share. There were 10 of us happy eaters! Yesterday was Zoey the doggie diva's Birthday. Its hard to believe that she is 9 years old. Butch and Julie brought her a pink bunny, wrapped in bubble wrap (one of her favorite things) which had her favorite treats...Jump to full entry
Mar 18, 2018 - Last two days in Yuma
When we left Little Rock heading for Arizona, Yuma did not appear in any of our travel options. Several other places were on our possible agenda...(like Scottsdale, Tucson, Tombstone and a couple of others). And now, we have been here for two different stays and are looking forward to coming back and spending January and February 2019 here in Yuma, just at a different resort. It is interesting how a suggestion here and a suggestion there changes everything. We have enjoyed Yuma and are really looking forward to coming back...just after the...Jump to full entry
Mar 16, 2018 - Yuma the windy...
Thursday was our work day. A work day to get the rest of the desert out of the coach. It was an all day project done mostly by Sue. I helped on occasion but spent time outside to prepare for the people coming to wash and wax the Bus. AND, we might have spent a little time watching the NCAA tournament. With the time difference basketball started here at 9:00 a.m. then all the way to 10:00 p.m. The group to wash and wax the Bus showed up a little early. Four of them washed and waxed the Bus and the CRV in less than an hour and a half. Then...Jump to full entry
Mar 14, 2018 - Trying to forget the desert
Monday night was wonderful. Full power is having that effect on me. I am enjoying resort living. 50 amp power...woohoo!! I woke at my usual time on Tuesday, which is too early but I peeked out the window by my side of the bed and got a great look at the sunrise. Well, all I had to do was get the phone down and set to camera, my glasses on to see what I was doing and then hold the screen up with one hand. That meant with the other hand I had to prop myself up in bed to focus and not drop the phone out the window. That was too much effort for...Jump to full entry
Mar 12, 2018 - Back to Yuma...or leaving the desert
Hooray...we did it. We survived the desert. Seven full days...NO HOOKUPS...and we survived. Water left, the batteries have been stressed but they have survived, we have stressed about both and we survived. So now we can say...BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, CHECK THE BOX...don't want a damn tee shirt...just get us out of the desert. Today was that day. Up early to strip the beds...clean sheets for Yuma. Then all the items for moving the Bus. By 9:30 we were close to getting everything done. CRV hooked up, engine running, time for the slides to come...Jump to full entry
Mar 6, 2018 - Day trip - back to Yuma
Long drive...200 miles x 2 = 400 miles return. Went back to get another prolotherapy injection in my neck. Now I am complete ,top to bottom, good for another year or two or?? I could have planned this better back in Yuma. Great weather stopped in to check where our RV site is when we return next year. We ended up getting a west facing side. We wanted to face east so we could have shade on the door & awning side..however,it looks like we will be warmer next year.Jump to full entry
Mar 1, 2018 - Hurrying to move
We started yesterday with a list of items we needed to accomplish before bed time. So, we started by taking care of personal business items, walking Sadie and an inventory of items on our grocery list. Then we headed out to find a salon to have someone help Sue with her hair. We found a young lady at Great Clips who thought she could help. She did...she helped Sue get rid of a lot of hair. New DO looks good. By then it was time for lunch. A quick visit to a Subway helped us a lot. Then back to the Bus. Sue had seen a link about issues that...Jump to full entry
Feb 27, 2018 - Where did today go???
Up early to handle my banking duties. Then it was time to take Sadie for her morning walk in the desert. We had a great time and Sadie is enjoying walking in the sand. Then back and Sue was up and we all had breakfast. Then we took it easy until time to get ready to go meet our group for lunch. We met all eight at Chili Peppers in downtown Yuma. In 2015 they were named to have the best Burrito in the nation. I had to read the article twice to make sure it did in fact say nation. Well, I am not a burrito connoisseur so I have to rely on...Jump to full entry
Feb 26, 2018 - Slow Down...Speed Up
Well, Sunday morning and we slowed down. I mean slowed down. Late breakfast and then out about lunch time. Driving around looking at Yuma and numerous other RV Parks. As hunger made itself known we looked for a local place to eat. We drove by a sports bar and grill by the name of Wheezy's. It looked worth the effort. Well, it was not. Mediocre would be the best vote possible. Edible and plenty but not worth the tab. But...we could have eaten at McDonalds and the taste would have been similar...and a lot less. No repeat visit to Wheezy's....Jump to full entry
Feb 24, 2018 - Rest and Relocation
Friday - The Rally's over and then everyone left. Starting about 6:45 I heard the engines start. When I took Sadie out about 7:15 Chip came out and said good bye again. We really enjoyed our time with Chip and Diane. They were gone by 7:45. Next I went out to say bye to Patsy. Richard was just up but they were getting around to leave. By 8:15 they were gone. By noon about 90% of the coaches had left. We took Sadie for a walk just to see how many were left and visited with others that had stayed for various reasons. The wind was coming up...Jump to full entry
Feb 21, 2018 - Refrigerator unleashed......
You will never guess what happened. The refrigerator door in the RV, fell off. Yup. I was standing at the sink, making dinner and all of the sudden the door just dropped off to the floor. Straight down, and only the Ivars tartar sauce fell out and broke. But here I am with a broken door in front of me. I yelled for Spike who was outside. He discovered that the bottom hinge/pin mechanism had broken. It is plastic, so we thought we would have to buy a new refrigerator door. So we unload the refrigerator, and redistribute the food into the big...Jump to full entry
