Leaving Grand Canyon Village, I followed Desert View Drive, which parallels the rim of the canyon. Overlooks along this road provide the best views of the Colorado River far below. Nov 5, 2005 - Meteor Crater, Arizona

This place was amazing. Situated in the middle of the Arizona desert about 40 miles east of Flagstaff we had decided to miss it on our way to Albuquerque but as we were heading south through Arizona again we decided to check it out. To be honest we expected it to be a bit of a cheesy tourist trap but it was a really well run place with an excellent museum. We did a rim tour with a cool old dude who really knew his stuff.
