Aug 13, 2017 - Wikieup

Aug 13, 2017, We are headed to a small town in Northwest Arizona, Wikieup. The RV park we are staying in is the Hidden Oasis. It does not look like much, but is full hook ups, with 50 amps and pull thru spots. There is a small café on site so we head over for dinner. Food is good and cheap and I find some used books to buy in the small shop. I would definitely recommend it for an overnight stop

Oct 17, 2014 - Burro Creek BLM, AZ

sxi, 17 Oct: Heading north... Carpe seemed to drive so much smoother following her annual service. It must be that clean oil and all that grease in her innumerable grease fittings. Or possibly it's the psychological result of writing a big check for service? Whichever, she ran like a top today. We departed the Freightliner of Arizona Tolleson Service Center at 0923 and headed to Nevada 101 West Loop to bypass Phoenix to the north. We transitioned to I 17 for about eight miles and then took NV 74 west to US 93 south of Wickenburg. We...

2014 Travels

Sep 26, 2013 - moving

Drove a big 145 miles. We like to stay in parks that take Passport America the cost here is $10. The park sets across the road from the sleeping lady it is a mountain range that looks like a lady laying down. We didn't see it tell someone showed us. I don't know who figured it out first but once they show you it does look like that. This park is out in the middle of no where. They have a café but it had a fire so they are serving food out of a truck. Donald said bet they don't have a health inspector out here. We ate there and it was...

Don't wake me up

Oct 13, 2010 - Burro Creek, AZ

We skirted Las Vegas and headed south on US95 again, passing through Searchlight, NV (love the name). We came down out of the mountains into Laughlin, NV where we crossed the Colorado River into Arizona. In the first photo you can see how high we were above Laughlin. At Kingman, AZ, Andy Devine's hometown, we headed south on US93 toward Phoenix. We camped overnight at Burro Creek Campground, a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) campground. We had no water, electric or sewer hookups, but had a covered picnic area with table and grill. The views...
