Apr 4, 2013 - An Easter Sunday Drive to Roosevelt Lake & Tonto National Monument

On Easter Sunday, we (along with Bev) took a drive to Roosevelt Lake, since we had never been there. Pete kept saying he wanted to drive on the Apache Trail(State Route 88), there is a cut off for it nearby. Feb 10, 2011 - Back to Apache Junction & Tonto Natl Forest

We headed back to Apache Junction for a few days then decided to go to Tonto National Forest. We looked around then decided to stay at the Pebble Beach Site. It is strictly dry camping but we all have our own area that has a cement patio, 2 picnic tables, a grill and its covered with a cabana for shade. There was a sandy area to the side of our RV and then beyond that were...

Yesterday afternoon we took in a matinee showing of Johnny Depp's new movie, The Tourist, didn't figure out what was going on pretty much to the end! And when we came out of the show!!!!, what a shock!!!!!, it was pouring rain! Has to be the...

We met the Palm Creek Gold & RV Resort Hiking Club in the main parking lot at 7:45;our inaugural trip with them. We had chosen to do the easy hike, a 3 mile jaunt up into the Superstition Mountains and Hieroglyphic Canyon. the trail head was just over an hour's drive north of us, just east of Phoenix. It took about 2 hours to get up into the canyon and the pictographs. Where we stopped for lunch was deep in a small canyon with a number a small pools of water and numerous rocks covered with pictographs. After lunch we headed back down to the...
