Dec 9, 2012 - Tonopah AZ - Saddle Mountain RV Park
Spent a bit of time in Tonopah, about 25 miles from Buckeye. Got to see Melissa and Michaela while we were in the area. Melissa was busy with company from Omaha, but we had dinner with Michaela a couple of times and got to meet Buster, her rescue puppy. While in the Buckeye area, we checked out the dog park in Goodyear for Bridget and looked up a Petsmart with doggy day camp. She really likes going to that. Trying to get familiar with what Goodyear has to offer so we'll know what's up when we get there in January.

Oct 16, 2012 - Tonopah, AZ
Tue, 16 Oct: We're back in Tonopah! We were in Tonopah, Nevada a bit over a week ago and now we're in Tonopah Arizona! Not a very common town name and to have two of them in adjacent states. Actually, Tonopah is derived from the Yavapai word Tú Nohwá, meaning "Hot Water Under a Bush" (aquifers?) The folks at 3T RV looked at all of our issues and finished up yesterday. We can't say we're "blown away" with the service we received as only about ¼ of the items on our list were fixed. They either couldn't duplicate our problem or didn't...

Apr 9, 2012 - Tonapah, AZ
We left our campground about 9 and got here about 1 so it was about 4 hr trip. Its 91. Were only here 1 nite. The RV park is out in the middle of the desert just off hwy 10 but not close enough to hear the traffic. There is only a gas station or two here and a couple of stores otherwise not much. We'll mosey out here early tomorrow for our next stop. Were hearing that a storm is expected but we think were ok as to settle in at our next place for about 3 days so it should pass over us. Hey were trying our best to bring the sun home. MBK

Nov 25, 2011 - Stationary for Awhile
Some of you have made contact wondering where we are and what we are doing. All I can say is that since we left Camp Verde, we have been very busy but not as tourists. We moved from Camp Verde to Prescott Valley where we spent our time checking out the area as a potential living destination or at least home base. On November first we moved to a “snowbird” RV park that we visited in March of last year. It took a little longer to set up since we will be “wintering” here for probably 5 months. We then spent a couple days at the new home of our...

Nov 10, 2011 - Arizona
I woke up to another cold morning. Fortunately nothing froze overnight. My goal today was to drive across most of Arizona to spend the night in Quartzsite, AZ. Didn't make it. We only got as far as Tonopah, about 45 miles west of Phoenix. We hit Phoenix at the height of rush hour and there was about 15 or 20 miles of crawling in heavy traffic. Leaving Lordsburg this morning, I had a choice of staying on I10 or taking US 70 and US 60 to Phoenix and saving 50 or 60 miles. According to Google and the GPS both would take about the same amount...

Mar 6, 2010 - From Carson City, Nevada to Tonopah, Arizona
We left Carson City, Nevada on Sunday 28 February 2010 heading to Rocklin, California on Hwy 80. Rocklin is just west of Sacramento. We spent the night in Camping World's parking lot. On Monday 01 March 2010 we had an appointment to get four new tires installed on our travel trailer. While waiting on Monday we got two important chores completed...mailing our tax information to our CPA and getting new passport photos to send in with our old soon-to-be expired passports. Next we found a small Italian restaurant a few blocks away from Camping...

Jan 20, 2010 - Tucson
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 Sheesh, who da thunk? Now I have to try to watch next Sunday to see if the Vikings get into the Super Bowl. We will be in Quartzsite so I don’t know if I will get tv so will have to hunt down someone with satellite tv. Monday morning we moved to Tucson to a county park CG on the west side of town that we stayed at last year a couple times. It is really nice as it is right in the desert and very peaceful, cept for the coyotes. They can really raise hell with all their yipping and carrying on. Since it was only 70...

Nov 11, 2009 - Week Twenty Three - UT and AZ
Monday - Nov 2 - Paulette had some fun and exercise this morning as she joined some of the camp locals in playing "Pickle Ball". What, you may ask, is pickle ball? Well, we're going to tell you. Think tennis, standard net, half sized hard court. Think pingpong, wooden paddles but oversized. Think wiffle ball, as in wiffle ball. Tennis rules, for the most part, with underhand serving to favor mature rotator cuffs. Anyway, Paulette can DO THIS GAME and threatens to form a fantasy pickleball league. It also made her realize that she really...

Jan 28, 2009 - Saddle Mountain RV Park
We left Quartzsite on Wed. the 28th & decided to make a stop in Tonopah, AZ., we were told by friends that their was a nice RV Park there.....so we decided to check it out. The park is owned by the same people that own Picacho Peak's RV Resort in Picacho, Arizona. We didn't get very many photo's, but Pete did try to take a photo of the sun rising through the palm trees in the park.

Jan 31, 2008 - Tucson and Beyond
What a busy couple of days! Tuesday we arrived in Tucson. First quick stop was to buy a dozen green corn tamales. I was drooling from the moment we left Deming as I knew that we would soon be back in the land of green corn tamales. I love green corn tamales but can't seem to find them anywhere but Tucson, AZ. I would have bought more, but after all, we only have a 4 cubic foot refrigerator! We then stopped to visit Michael (my brother) and his family. We had a lovely visit and got caught up on all the kids. My how they have grown! Michael...

Jan 1, 2008 - Happy New Year!
Welcome to a new year! We celebrated by attending the Fiesta Bowl Block party in Tempe. Cindy, KC, Alex and Hunter joined us and the kids held out until about 11:00, so we were impressed. We are thrilled to enjoy the warm days...but the night temperatures are still very nippy. We adults were frozen, thus calling the party over about 11:15. Neil, Ciera and I, spent the first day of the new year watching the rose bowl parade. It was different this year because we stopped in Pasadena to view the float decorating. It was a thrill to see the...

Feb 27, 2007 - Another First
From Saddle Mountain RV Park, Tonopah, AZ, 50 miles west of downtown Phoenix: We experienced another "first" in our new lifestyle today. Vicki has been battling a cough since shortly before we began this trip. After trying a series of home & over-the-counter remedies, none of which seemed to have much benefit, she had just about decided that it was time to call in the heavy artillery.....make our first visit to a doctor while on the road. Last night as we pulled into Uncle Wally's, I noticed a medical clinic across the street. In spite of...
