May 14, 2013 - New RV Park

For some reason I cannot download any photos, so this will be a book without pictures. Hopefully, I will get this resolved tomorrow. I had an appt. with doctor this morning to review the pain I have been having since the last procedure. All is well, it is normal, it will get better. Tomorrow I have the third procedure then only one more after that. Yeah! Heaven is a pool and a tree. Such simple pleasures can mean a great deal when you live in a "tin can". The heat is still staggering. 104 today, and boy, it was hot. But, we moved to a new...

May 13, 2013 - Whine...it's too hot!

Hot, Hot, Hot! Did I say HOT??? It was 105 degrees today and here it is 9:30 p.m. and it is 91 degrees. Miserable are we. You heard the saying “but, it’s a dry heat”. Well, that is true, but just imagine putting your oven on at 105 degrees then sticking your head in. Hot, huh? I rest my case. We went for Mexican food for lunch just because we didn’t want to cook, nor cook dinner. We had a nice lunch in an air conditioned restaurant with margaritas, of course, and then went home. That was our big outing today. Toby does not like the hot...

May 12, 2013 - Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! My friend, Lee Ann wrote a beautiful tribute to all mother's out there and I am repeating it on this journal. Lee Ann, you are the best. "Happy Mother's Day to each and every lady reading this today! There are many women who have not given birth to a child that have fulfilled all the criteria of a Mother and shared the love of a Mother's heart. Adoptive mothers, Stepmothers and of course, Grandmothers. We are especially proud of our daughter-in-law's who are doing an amazing job with our beautiful grandchildren. We love,...

May 11, 2013 - Pros to RV Living

I know you are just on the edge of your seat wondering what I have to say...well, our dear friends Lee Ann and Larry sent me an email with their ideas of the pros to RV living. Well, they were so good, and all were the same things I might have said...so, I will take their words as I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks guys. Pros to RV Living: 1. Free to go where you want to when you want to. 2. Meet great people 3. See things all year long that most people have to get to in two or three weeks a year. 4. No yard work to do. 5. If...

May 10, 2013 - Cons to RV living

I had to go in for a check up on the vein procedure and all is well. The vein is sealed up nicely. Yeah! Having a lot of discomfort, however, because (I think) from all the time in the truck since Monday when we left California. Will be taking it easy for the next few days. The weather forecast is for YIKES! over 100 degrees for the next week. Double YIKES! We are leaving Tacna on Tuesday for a new RV park in Yuma. After the Dr.'s appt. we had 5 parks to look at to make our decision. Well, our dumb GPS is over 5 years old, without any...

May 9, 2013 - Visiting friends

We decided to see our friends Lois and Jack as we would not be able to see them again till next winter. So, off we went to Surprise (wonder how it got it's name?) on a 2 1/2 hour drive, similar to the drive between Seattle and Portland. We got there in time for lunch and they had a great spread. Sandwiches, fruit bowl, chips and beer. We talked non-stop, as we always do. Lois had a hair appointment, so we headed (just she and I, the boys stayed home) out for a quick stop at Mickey Dee's for an ice cream, then to the shop. After the hair...

May 8, 2013 - A low key day

I had my second procedure done on my right leg this time. For those of you who haven't been following my leg saga, I am having the deep veins in my legs cauterized to help prevent further damage from a life long problem of blood clots. This time it was very painful, but I survived it and it feels better already. Since we didn't do anything, except have a great breakfast at Cracker Barrel after the surgery, I don't have anything of great interest to say. We stayed in most of the day, and took Toby for walks. Tomorrow we are going to...

May 7, 2013 - More photos from Calif.

We have some photos of our granddaughters little dog, Sophie, who is 6 months old…teething, ouch, and is a little ball of fire. From morning to night she barely stops. What an adorable little dog. Shih Tsu true and true. We had lunch one day in the city of Orange. A cute old city with a center park with a fountain in the middle. It has several antique and little boutique shops. A fun place to eat and wander. Hope you enjoy our photos….

May 6, 2013 - Back in Arizona

We are back in Tacna after spending 10 days with Kim & Dave and the grandchildren. We had a great time and loved being around the girls. It had almost been 2 years since we had seen them….cannot believe we had gone that long without a visit. Will change that with all our grandchildren, for sure. Kim and Dave went to Florida for a long weekend so we were with the girls. They are so active and spirited. Wow, not used to all that activity. But we enjoyed being with them and miss them already. While we were there I stubbed my toe on the bed...

Apr 26, 2013 - Tomorrow, California

I had an appointment this morning for my follow up from the procedure on Wednesday. They did a sonogram and said everything looked good. I was relieved to hear that. Still having pain where they did the closures but understand that will go away with time. I suppose when you think that they cauterized a vein, it would hurt for a bit. Not being a patient person I am trying to learn to say “oommm” and relax. It wasn’t a great day as I came home and slept for 3 hours. I have been feeling awful with nausea and stomach pain, not to mention a...

Apr 25, 2013 - Thursday

Yesterday I had the 1st of 4 treatments on my legs. I have been plagued with blood clots since I was 19 and that came with blood vessels that had damaged valves. I had 2 on each leg. Through the years the blood has pooled by my ankles causing my lower legs to darken and become almost black by the ankles. I was injured recently and it became an open wound that after 1 month did not heal. The Lord led me to this cardiac/vascular surgeon who said he could fix me. They did the procedure on my left leg which took about an hour. Did it hurt?...

Apr 23, 2013 - If it's Tuesday, it must be Tacna

I had an appointment with the wound doctor today and since John is still not feeling great yet, I went into Yuma. As you travel on I-80 west to Yuma there is a police car that sits in the center divider who has a mistaken idea that hiding behind a bush will make him invisible. If it was a tree he might get more speeders but when you can see him there, and he is there almost daily, you know that it is best to go the speed limit or to slow down. Well, there he was again. Sitting there, waiting. Made me smile as I was traveling on cruise...
