Jan 19, 2013 - Warmth at last
Finally got internet again. We are in Sun City and relaxing for our final days before heading home. We arrived here on Wednesday and are heading out on Monday after we put the motorhome into storage. The weather is beautiful with high 40s at night and mid 70s during the day. Some friends that left Calgary 15 years ago have a place here and they joined us for dinner on Friday. Sunday will be pack-up day after a last car show event.

Apr 30, 2012 - The start of the trip is the planning
http://jngsjourney.blogspot.com/ This is where I will be writing the daily grind of working and life in Yellowstone. Here I will keep my pictures and the travel portion of our summer. Maybe at somepoint I will combine them. The planning is done to Yellowstone. Here is the plan (as of today). We will leave Sun City, AZ on Tuesday, May 15. Our first stop will be the Escapee Park North Ranch in Congress, AZ. It is 65 miles from home. This is what we did last year and it worked great. Far enough to be on the road, but close enough that we...

We will pull out of here on Sunday and head North about 90 mi. to Distant Drums RV Resort for the Spring Rally. The sign up sheet shows about 23 attendee's, should be a pretty good group. Apr 6, 2012 - Mystery Castle & South Mountain
Yesterday Tom and Cathy took us 'touring' around Phoenix.. We had a fun day, had some great Ice Cream at a real old fashioned Ice Cream soda fountain and antique store, also had a great Mexican meal.. You can check out the details about the Castle @ Phoenix's Mystery Castle South Mountain is about 2300' elevation South of town and allows a great view of the valley that Phoenix sits in.. Pretty spectacular view of the area.. On Wednesday we drove over to Venture Out in Mesa to see Jack and Marcia and enjoy a home cooked "Emborg" cheese...

Arrival @ "Paradise RV Resort" in Sun City We made the trip to the Phoenix area and are set up @ the RV park in Sun City.. Temp's here today are WARM, I think they are calling for about 90 deg. tomorrow and Sat. then a little cool down for a day. Talking to a resident I met here thar works at the little 'diner' that is part of the resort... Dec 4, 2011 - Sunflower RV Resort/Ben Avery Shooting Range
I told you a little about the resort we are in the other day but forgot to tell you the name - we are at Sunflower RV Resort. Plenty of things here to keep the grey hairs busy. They have a nicely equipped woodworking shop which interested me but the park we are going to in Yuma also has one and since we will be there for 6 weeks I will do my small project there. On Saturday we drove over to Dick and Phyllis's site in Paradise RV Resort. The girls went to a craft fair and did some shopping. Dick and I went to breakfast then toured the...

Dec 2, 2011 - Snow and a New Dot
Yesterday we hooked up the team and headed out as snow was falling. Temp was 33 degrees. The forecast had been for rain, possibly changing to snow in the afternoon - surprise, it came early! Prescott Valley is around 5100 feet. It wasn't too bad but we did run through slush for a little bit before dropping down 1500 feet or so in elevation. As we got closer to the Phoenix area we left the clouds behind and starting seeing the saquaro cacti. By the time we arrived at our campground (excuse me - "resort"), it was clear skies and 59 degrees....

Jun 4, 2011 - Heading for Bullhead City
Well we finally made it to Riverview RV Park here in Bullhead City. The travel trailer had a tire blow-out and we were unprepared to change it, sooo we waited for our GS road service to get to us and help. Glad there is a Sams Club close for a new tires. Harold desided to wait until Monday when we leave town, so my only purchse was a new swim suit, since that was on our list of things we forgot at home. I even had to try it out in the hot tub.

May 31, 2011 - Last Night in Sun City
Today was a busy day and tomorrow will be get away day! We started early with taking our "toad" (Chevy Cobalt) to the dealership for an oil change and check on a noise. Long story short we got the noise fixed under the extended warranty and the 50,000 mile maintenance done for an arm and a leg. Went to lunch with a neighbor, loaded the RV with all my clothes and all the bath supplies, went shopping for birthday gifts, went to the bank for $$ and then went to Peter Piper Pizza for the Birthday Party. Our oldest granddaughter Kayla will be 12...
