Mar 9, 2015 - Grand Canyon to Monument Valley

Leaving the hotel at 8am it was quite chilly with lots of snow on the ground. We drove along the South Rim road, catching glimpses of the canyon behind the pinyon juniper trees. We stopped at Desert View Visitors Centre where more spectacular views were awaiting. After yet more photos, then it was time to leave the unforgettable Grand Canyon behind. Jun 15, 2011 - Lake Powell

Today we travelled to Lake Powell, a massive 185 mile long man-made lake which has flooded Glen Canyon as the result of the damming of the great Colorado River. On the way we drove along the scenic East rim of the Grand Canyon to visit a desert view lookout. Then we visited Navajo and Hopi Indian trading posts selling Hopi and Kachina dolls and Native American jewellery.
