Nov 24, 2012 - Old Pearce (AZ) Heritage Day

We took a ride from Tucson to Pearce -- it's about 80 miles to the east and south from Tucson. We enjoyed the town -- which is essentially an historic post office and the "old store." In a "walk-about" we came across The Smith House - the residence of the early mine owners. Then, we viited the "new" school which hosts 107 students from the surrounding area in several (fairly modern) buildings. We chatted with another visitor who had attended grades 1 through 4 here in a one-room school. We visited the old cemetery (which the roadside signs...

Apr 19, 2010 - Cochise Stronghold

Mileage at departure was 20,965 Mileage at Cochise Stronghold was 21,064 Day 1 was 99 miles. We arrived at Cochise Stronghold an hour before sunset. Very peaceful and quiet. One other camper with a firearm in his/her holster. We can only guess. This morning we hiked 3 miles and took photos along the way. Jim will work on posting some of the plants and flowers. We got a telephone call from Miss M today and we may see her this evening. Also, we are keeping an eye open for Miss A in a Budget truck.
