On 4/8/12 we met at the Phoenix airport for the trip to the Grand Canyon area. Our first hike that afternoon is the Kaibab Trail. It was late afternoon so we did a quick in and out from the Kaibab trail head, past Ooh Aah point to Cedar Ridge (about 3 miles round trip). It was a pretty gradual slope climb. Fairly easy on a well maintained trail.Started at 7200ft at the rim, Cedar Ridge is at 6100. Sep 9, 2010 - Hiking the Wilderness with Mom

Mom picked out the activity for today, she wanted to see the waterfall at Sycamore Canyon in the Kaibab (KAI sounds like kyak) National Forest....so we got the directions from her brochure, from google maps, and from another book we had on WIlliams, AZ.....all three had conflicting routes....so we used the one from the book on Williams figuring it would be the most accurate. We packed our usual cooler with cold water and a bag of snacks, took the doggies out for one last potty break...and off we went in the car. Well, we turned off...
