Today we took in the Hubbell Trading post which is the longest continual running trading post in our nation. We were able to watch a Navajo woman weave a gorgeous wool rug....valued at $7,000! Everything is done by hand...from clipping the wool of their goat or sheep, to carding it to remove rough fibers, to the actual loom. Quite an art. We also learned of the Navajo Long Walk in the 1860's where they were removed from their land and imprisoned. They are the only nation to be returned to their ancestral homeland.
