Apr 11, 2016 - Ramsey Canyon Preserve

We took a little side trip about 15 miles from the park (driving distance) to a place known as Ramsey Canyon Preserve. This 380 acre area located nearby Coronado National Forest, is an ecological crossroads where plants and wildlife from the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts mingle with those from the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Madre. Up to 14 species of hummingbirds are among the 150 species of birds that have been sighted in the preserve making it a bird watcher's paradise. Paula and I hiked up part of the canyon. Where RV This Year?

Feb 28, 2014 - Fillin' in the gap

Mon Feb 24 We started our prep for leaving. I removed the tire covers, tripod, washed the slide roofs, etc. We closed the slides to make sure they would work upon leaving. Later in the afternoon Izzy came over and we enjoyed happy hour with him and our neighbors Ron and Evelyn. We grilled steaks and Ginger had made a pasta salad AND a key lime pie. Ahhhh – life is good! After Ginger, the techno whiz, helped Izzy with his new smart phone (I was NO help) we said our goodbyes and he headed back to the Foothills in his very cool ’65 Ranchero....
