Oct 11, 2018 - Arizona Fall League

Went to a game today between the Glendale Desert Dogs and the Surprise Saguaros. I've been to lots of ballgames in my lifetime but today I was handed my first foul ball EVER!! It was a beautiful day to spend outside - sunny, slight breeze, and 78 degrees. I plan to attend many of these games until the season is over just before Thanksgiving. Sometimes Josie and Terry accompany me - sometimes just Terry -sometimes I go alone. MahJong has not started, exercise at the Y starts on Monday. Friends will start arriving this week . Can't wait to...

Jul 16, 2013 - Wet-N-Wild Phoenix

After reading various reviews for Wet-n-Wild Phoenix, I decided to take the kids there yesterday - a Tuesday with overcast skies. I have been told the park gets extremely crowded on weekends and "bring a friend" days so I was sure to avoid both of those scenarios. Cerreta's recipe also calls for 10% less sugar...

Dec 23, 2009 - Stadium Tour

A new friend at the RV park where we are staying told me that there is a tour of the stadium in Glendale where the Arizona Cardinals play football and so we decided to go there on Tuesday. We drove almost an hour to Glendale, which is on the opposite side of the valley from where in are in Mesa. We enjoyed a one hour tour of this 3 year old stadium. It is called University of Phoenix Stadium. Apparently the U of Phoenix bought the naming rights. I thought the outside looked like a spaceship but, not being knowledgeable about architecture,...

Sep 9, 2009 - First Day out!

Well, finally a posting on our trip. We left Jamul at 9:30 A.M. and drove direct to Glendale, AZ. Nice hotel, but couldn't get on their Wi-Fi. Cathy & Bobbie had problems with their cell phones, so the next morning, went to a Verizon Store and got them fixed. Good first lap of our extended trip.
