Day 27 20180704 0740-1900 598 miles Happy Independence Day When we got up this morning the parking area on both sides of the interstate was full. Since we were so close to the fast moving traffic on the interstate, Lainey did not get a walk. Kurt took Buck out. Buck enjoyed himself since there were numerous scents for him to explore. Even though Kurt had parked near the end of the drive, someone parked in front of us. Kurt managed to get out without incident. We stopped at the first station that offered diesel to fill both tanks. With 2 family reunions and a wedding in the family in June 2018 AND Kurt having some business to take care of for Raytheon, we knew we would be gone for at least 4 weeks, maybe 6. After much thought we decided that was too long to leave Buck, our German Short Hair dog home with just a pet sitter coming twice a day. Taking the dog was along was a given. Dec 21, 2008 - Sunday in Elgin AZ

Today we went to breakfast at Fred's and went south and east to Elgin, AZ to several wineries. Mom Mitchel felt better today and also ate better and was in better spirits. We had a very pleasant drive in the sunny 60 degree weather. A very relaxing day. We have enough wine to last the winter now I believe!
