We started out for a short hike and 4 hours, 6 miles later we were ready to eat lunch and rest our tired feet! Marianne, Cathe, George and I had a great time hiking the Overton and Clay Mine Trails. The desert wildflowers are starting to bloom! The colors are so brilliant, the flowers are small, but we enjoy looking for them!

I saw this young hawk sitting on a palo verde tree near our campsite and starting taking pictures. He was there for over an hour, just looking around or trying to find something to eat. We went with Dawn and Roy to Old Downtown Scottsdale shopping last Thursday. Had a great time in the jewelry shops, the T-shirt shops and had a snack at the Sugar Bowl restaurant. Cute ice cream shop!!! The area around the library has many fountains, flowers, statues, took a stroll through there before it got too dark. Then we went to dinner at Carrabba's....

Mar 1, 2009 - Cave Creek, AZ
We have moved to Cave Creek to visit with good friends and work on various projects. Cave Creek is also near the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale and Bryan is making appointments there for various 'things' we won't burden anyone with. A special aspect of this area is the wildlife. We'll be taking some pictures as we go, and may have quite a collection before we're finished. For example, we've seen the javalina on a couple of occasions now. Ugly little suckers! We expect to be in the Phoenix area for at least a month, but may make some...
