Apr 10, 2013 - Bullhead City,AZ/Laughlin,NV

We are now in Bullhead City, Nv. The park is lovely, paved streets a beautiful pool and spa and is located on a hill overlooking the casinos in Laughlin,NV. We spent the day setting up, doing wash and checking out the things we want to see in the area. The wind has finally settled down to a nice breeze and the temp is in the low 80's (perfect). The park is only a mile from the Colorado River so I hope Mark will catch some fish while we are here.

Jul 3, 2012 - From AZ to NV to CA to NV

Tuesday - we packed up and left our hotel in Flagstaff, AZ at 9:30 am and started off on another day of traveling. The kids have traveled very well. Before leaving for our trip when Maggie was visiting us, she helped pack activity bags for the kids. We have about 6 different bags that we rotate with different types of things to do. Bags of: toys, activity books, reading books, games, educational activities, etc. They have also listened to several books on CD. Surprisingly we have made it with very few movies on our DVD player, and limited...

May 7, 2012 - Pre- Cruise Excitement - May 7, 2012

Well, It is Monday May 7th and we still have 6 days before we leave for the long air flight to Sydney Australia. We will be travelling by plane for 14 hours. My husband is not looking forward to that part but I just consider it part of our big adventure. We have been wanting to do a World Cruise for some time now and as they say, you only live once...so live it to the fullest. We leave Sunday night but because of crossing the International Dateline we will not arrive to Sydney until Tuesday morning. We will then have the day in Sydney and...

Apr 18, 2012 - Laughlin/Bullhead

Arrived at our campsite and was pleasently surprised at the beautiful view out of our window. We are at the Avi Casino about 7 miles outside Laughlin. First couple of days did mostly nothing. Recooperating after the Rally and running a lot in Phoenix. Laughlin and Bullhead are across the river from each other. Laughlin mostly casinos and the people live and shop in Bullhead. Beautiful scenery. Several trips to Walmart and did laundry at the campground. Had to take advantaage of food deals - 99 cent breakfast (eggs, ham, hashbrowns and...

Jan 29, 2012 - Bullhead City, AZ

We have stopped in Bullhead City, AZ for a couple of days to check out the area since we have never been to this part of the state. The ride up from Yuma through Parker was very beautiful. We are staying at an older, but rather nice motel called The Lodge on the River. It sits on the Colorado. We have a 2 room suite with a balcony and it costs less than a normal motel room. We took a ride across the river to Laughlin, NV which is a micro-Las Vegas. We walked into Harrah's and promptly lost our lunch money. We gamble about once every 2...

Apr 5, 2011 - Bullhead City and Chloride, AZ

When we left Cottonwood, we went north and west to Bullhead City, where it was even warmer than it was in Cottonwood. We revisited Oatman, drove up to Peach Springs, and took a fascinating Saturday jaunt to the genuine 1860's mining town of Chloride. During its heyday from 1900 to 1920, there were 75 mines which produced silver chloride, lead, zinc, copper and gold. Today, this village is home to craftsmen and artists who have shops in the town. We looked around, watched a few staged gunfights, had a great lunch at Yesterday's Tavern, and...

Mar 19, 2011 - Bullhead City, AZ

We spent time along the Colorado River in Ehrenberg, AZ. After a few days in Phoenix for some window work, we moved to Bullhead City, AZ. Our campsite had a great view of Laughlin, NV. especially the night lights of the casinos. The two cities are seperated by the Colorado River. The roadsides are just showing some color with the first blooms of the desert. On the Mar. 25th we are moving to Pahrump, NV until April 20th. Our annual ALFA motor home rally will be held in Pahrump which is located about one hour NW of Las Vegas. We are looking...

Alaska Again 2011

Nov 14, 2010 - Fort Mohave, AZ

After two nights and what seemed like a million sneezes we left Buckeye, AZ and headed further west on Interstate 10 until we reached Quartzsite. This is the home of what literally becomes the largest swap meet imaginable; actually it is one of the largest in the world. This area swells from a population of 1,900 to well over a million each winter as the snowbirds from the north come to the BLM land and set up camp, most with no hookups for several months. Many of these folks pull a trailer filled with something to sell and set up shop in...

Crossing the Country

Oct 25, 2010 - Laughlin/Bullhead City

It was sad to leave Verde Valley. This is one of the nicest Thousand Trails preserves. The staff was great, we had live music one night, and great weather. The trip to Bullhead City/Laughlin was fairly easy. We stayed at the Silver View RV park in Bullhead City because it has a great view of the casinos in Laughlin just across the Colorado river . But the bad thing was the wind. They say they get 4 days of wind, then 4 with little wind. Dry…warm…but a steady 30 mph wind….more…up on the ridge. After a few days and night of wind, we were...
