Feb 7, 2011 - Traffic Report from the RV Resort
Have you ever wondered what a traffic report would be like from an RV Resort? Well here is one idea... Good morning! Another wonderful day is starting. The weather today will be in the mid to upper 70’s so traffic will start to increase as golfers, hikers, ATV clubs, motorcycle associations start their daily activities. Traffic on main street, Retirement Way has increased as the Mulligan Golf Club for Duffers place their clubs curbside for pick up to the course. You might want to take an alternate route, say Cactus Street to avoid all the...Jump to full entry
Feb 2, 2011 - Chillin' in the AZ Sun
OK, we are a bit warmer here in the frosted sun belt, folks are walking around in "winter" coats, ear muffs and mittens with less than warm hands. It is not as frigid here as other parts of the US, but the chill is here, but also is the warmth of friendships forged by retirement and travel. Conversations over steaming coffee and hot chocolate abound and stories of "I remember when" about the cold weather in the past are the preferred topic of conversation. Listening to the chatter you would think these retirees walked to school in a...Jump to full entry
Feb 1, 2011 - Travel Time, but not too much...
We have moved Arizona City about two hours down the road from Ajo. For the next week and a half we are at Quail Run RV Resort visiting one of CRM's Chaplains as they are in their second year. Chaplains Dale and Carol Novesky have recently purchased a residence called in the RV Resort, which shows commitment, concern and caring. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. Just when you think you are going to get a slow, sure pitch of a season where the sun vacations for the winter, things change. They redirect in a way you can't predict, can't...Jump to full entry
Feb 19, 2009 - UPDATE -Arizona City, Arizona
Arizona City is just off Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson. This town is mainly a bedroom community for Casa Grande, a growing town just north of here. We are staying in a more than beautiful park, Quail Run RV Park. CRM has a chaplain on site here, Mitch and Kim Moser. Mitch and I have been corresponding for over a year. They retired over a year ago and have traveled the USA and now are serving as chaplains here in Arizona City. There is so much to write about the people here, the park, the area that I do need to take the time to...Jump to full entry
Oct 28, 2007 - We're here!!!
We made it to Arizona City!!! A long ride across Texas. Just a couple of hours across New Mexico. Some very beautiful scenery, just very hard to capture in a picture. You can see mountains for hours before you reach them. The Prarie lands are amazing. I don't know how our ancesters ever crossed them on horseback or wagons. You can drive for hours without seeing a crossroad or house. Lots of fences though and you see a few cows and horses here and there. The rocks are neat, you can drive along on the prarie for hours then you find these...Jump to full entry
