Tuesday, July 28, 2015 – Homer to Seldovia and back to Homer. We wanted to do things we hadn’t done before and see new things and places – go down different roads this trip to Alaska. We decided to take a day trip to Seldovia. So if you are looking for a waterfront town where there are no lines, no traffic, no rushing and no noise this is the town. You can sit in the sun, paddle a kayak, hike in the woods, watch soaring eagles and gulls, watch the entertaining otters, and treat yourself to an ice cream cone or root beer float…then Seldovia...

Jul 16, 2014 - A Visit with Russians

We were awakened this morning by workmen setting out orange cones and commenting about “the RV” in the parking spot. Thinking that we might be in the middle of today’s work area, we vacated our spot. We went to the highway overlook of Homer and the surrounding seawater, where there was only one other car. We had hardly arrived before we heard screams of despair.
