Jul 15, 2013 - Denali to Nancy Lake

Denali was fun, we did a lot of cool things there, but time to move on. We landed at Nancy lake, beautiful lake, we took the Sea Eagle out for a ride, not a lot of wildlife to see, but we did hang out with a Loon for awhile. We approached him the first time and he was not having it, we were trying to get pictures and he kept dunking under. When we came upon him the second time, he decided to ride along side the boat about 5 feet from us, and we were able to get some really cool pics of him. We stayed one night at the campground and then it...

Jun 27, 2009 - Wedding Day Morning

We started the day with a move to Kelly and Dave's little cabin on Nancy Lake. We were able to watch the fabulous compound transform into a spectacular dreamland wedding site. Kelly and Dave had spent the last few months of untold hours working on the area to get it just right. As their special surprise gift to Michelle and David they flew in their favorite masseuse, Altero, from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to Alaska. He gave them both 2 hour massages just before the wedding so they would be relaxed and enjoy this wonderful time. It worked.

Jun 27, 2009 - Ceremony

Well, what can you say about your daughters wedding? Michelle said that it was the most perfect day in her life. Everything was just what she and David wanted. David said it was wonderful and perfect with tears of joy in his eyes. We said “Hallelujah”. A big thank you to all our friends and family who came so far to be an important part of Michelle and David’s life. You all made this event so memorable.

Jun 27, 2009 - Cocktail Hour

Cocktail Hour was held at the bar. David's office colleague played with his band. They had learned the Wedding March just for this occasion. John wanted to Two Step up the aisle but Michelle was more traditional. We could have been on YouTube. Signature drinks were served. Michelle chose Kelly's special Margueritas and David chose Crown Royal and 7Up. The bar area gave us shelter from the 5 minute rain shower brought on by the Apache Blessing at the end of the ceremony.

Jun 26, 2009 - Rehearsal Day

The wedding party girls all got together for a delicious brunch hosted by Lisa before having manicures and pedicures. The girls brought champagne to relax everyone, who me? The Rehearsal dinner was held at Settlers Bay Lodge hosted by Jerene and Ray Nesbett. This was a beautiful site with a forever view across Lake Lucille to the mountains, and another fabulous dinner, (put it on the list). The wedding couple was striking. Michelle wore a long green empire gown (looking like a Greek goddess) and David was so handsome in his coordinating...

Jun 30, 2007 - Nancy Lake, AK

One Hundred miles S. of Denali is Nancy Lake Rec area. Our campsite was on the shores of S Rolly Lake. Rolly Lake is a beautiful state park with glass water rimmed in pine and hard wood forest. Sunset is at 11:00 PM. We had fun learning how to pilot an inflatable kayak. We spent the July 4th holiday with Michelle and her boyfriend David's family and friends at their cottage. A whole pig was roasted on the BBQ with lots of tasty side dishes. David's cousin Jan took us on a party boat lake tour along with many jet skis, water skiers, and...

Apr 3, 2006 - Hanging out in Anchorage

Got up too early...that darn time change, and got JR to the airport on time for his flight to Bethel. We knew we would get a chance to see David Horesch and Dana Hall and kids at the airport as they were intercepting Divya who had been there for the weekend. Our kids enjoyed each others company while we visited. After that I headed for Title Wave books, a great Anchorage bookstore which buys back books and gives in store credit. We knew we still had $50 credit from last summer. Kids did homeschool while I made a few phone calls. Enjoying...
