Jun 26, 2012 - Eielson AFB/Fairbanks

This morning started out pretty nice but around noon turned to rain that continued all day. The Air Force did not start flying until a few minutes before 8AM today. I took some pictures of the B29 Bomber at the Lady of the Lake and then Heritage Park located on Eielson AFB. I then drove the route to the Northern Alaska Tour Company that I will take tomorrow - 29.9 miles and 37 minutes driving time plus time stopping at the kennel to drop off my dog. Jun 25, 2012 - North Pole, Alaska

This morning was rainy and cool. The Air Force started early this morning as the jets thundered overhead shortly after 7AM. I went on base in the morning. I stopped at the Base Exchange and got a haircut and then looked around the exchange. I went to the base library to use the Internet and found out they are closed on Monday’s. I drove to the North Pole and ate lunch at McDonalds while I uploaded yesterday’s blog and pictures. Afterwards I drove around the North Pole and stopped at the Santa Claus House. Jun 24, 2012 - Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska

I left Tok RV Village at 08:00AM and went across the street to Village Gas and put 18.015 gallons of diesel in the RV to get me to the Fairbanks area where fuel is a lot cheaper. At Village Gas it was $4.449 a gallon for diesel. I left at 8:05AM. A nice drive from Tok to Delta Junction. Traffic was very light. A lot of trees along the Alaska Highway but when you caught glimpses of part of the Alaska Range to the southwest (left side) the views were quite stunning.
