Oct 9, 2019 - Dobbs RV spot

After driving over 300 miles in two days we arrived safely to our friends, a very slow pace, The Dobbs home. They’re way off the main highways into the hills. It’s quiet here and comfortable. They have several shade trees overlooking their little pond and we relax. It’s easy to let go of any tensions from traveling. We stayed two nights to get all our conversations in, had several meals, lots of laughs. On the day we depart, we left about 10 a.m. and had many miles to cover. On the way across Alabama toward Tennessee we had to go through...

Oct 7, 2017 - The Dobbs RV spot in the Hills

And so with the work on the coach being all done, we wanted to head toward our kids place in Augusta, GA but, with a short stop at friends Lee and Sheila. They are fellow RV'ers we met back in 2012 at Pointes West Army campground. They've got this nifty little 5 acre piece of paradise. There's a nice wide flat spot on their driveway our coach fits on it just fine. However, our 5 day visit was cut short with the arrival on the Gulf Coast of Hurricane Nate. Oct 25, 2013 - Dobbs Lake and Hill Retreat

We woke up to frost on the picnic table, brrrr it was 30 degrees. Time to head south, we're a little late, actually. The drive was a quick and easy 149 miles. We're a smidgeon south of Huntsville, AL. We landed in the front yard, driveway of our friends Lee and Sheila. We were here last year also, after our visit over at Branson, MO. We've known Lee and Sheila for about 3 years now, have become fast friends. They have opened their driveway for us and we'll have a good time for a few days. They make sure we're well fed. This part of north...

Nov 16, 2012 - The Dodd RV extravaganza

From the Cullman campground it was only 28 miles. The driveway is long and wide and it's very quiet out here in the countryside near Snead. With plenty water, LP on board and big batteries not to mention our generator we're very comfortable "Boondocking" in a situation like this. We enjoyed our two night visit with our friends, Lee and Sheila Dodd. We met them last year at Pointes West Army FAMCAMP near Augusta, GA. They stayed in contact with us, then made the suggestion for our visit when they saw we're traveling near. Besure to check...
