What a contrast between these two towns 25 miles apart. On the Gulf of Mexico is Gulf Shores a tourist destination crammed with tacky T-shirt shops and traffic. The shoreline is filled with high rise condos. Tanger Outlet has a large shopping center along HWY 59 amongst restaurants and amusement centers. The one exception is "Gulf Shore State Park" which has open beach and shoreline access as well as a campground, golf course walking trails and cabin rentals. Apr 1, 2010 - Silverhill, AL

We departed Eufaula this morning and I took a few pictures of the mansions downtown as we drove by. The Lakepoint State Park was a great campground, we had a problem with a circuit breaker failing and the staff came right out and repaired the pedestal. The sites were spacious and there were lots of dog walking areas. In Dothan it was a fuel stop at Flying J Truck Stop. I use the trucker side to refuel because the equipment is more geared to large vehicles. The long handle windshield cleaner, high speed large mouth hose which pumps 60 gals....
