One of the hidden places of Northwestern Alabama is Dismals Canyon. This is a sunken forest. I don't know of any other way to describe it. We had visited here, last August, on a whim and I didn't have a camera. That certainly meant a trip back for pictures. So, while we were at Red Bay, we made the drive to Dismals Canyon. The best place to learn more about it is on the Internet. It's named for a small little bug, related to the glow worm.
