Day 132 Monday - Left New Orleans area & drove along Gulf Coast road to Biloxi. We stopped here one night four years ago & we wanted to see how it had been affected by Hurricane Katrina. The road along the sea front was still undergoing repair & the timber pier we walked out on four years ago was devastated as most of the houses alongside the road were. Most were gone altogether with just foundations left to show where they had been. New Casinos have been built on land but the masssive floating casino that used to be here has gone after it...

Nov 2, 2007 - Places of interest in and around Gulf Shores

Okay, we just got back from having one of the best and most fun dinners we have ever had. Lambert's Cafe, home of the Throwed Rolls be sure to check out their web site (throwedrolls.com). They have two restaurants in MO and this one in AL, A MUST do if you are ever in the area. They really do actually throw the big hot rolls at you. Good thing Carl is a catcher. Yummmy food too. They have pass around dishes that everyone gets so you don't have to order them from the menu, plus great menu items. Highly recommend. The other day we had...

Oct 31, 2007 - Arriving Magnolia Springs RV Hideaway, Foley AL

We left Indianapolis on Monday, Oct 29 around 9:30 AM (36 degree) arrived at Merriweather Lewis campground on Natchez Trace Parkway near Hohenwald TN around 5:30 PM.(73 degree) This is a 32 site free rustic National Park site. The drive was magnificent, wonderful two lane paved historic winding route. To our surprise there was only one campsite left which we had to back into, It was very unlevel, we didn't open the slides, just slept with everything closed up. It is a great hidden rustic campground surrounded by the best scenery Tennessee...
