From Cheaha State Park, within Talladega National Forest, about 65 miles due east from Birmingham, Alabama. I'm writing this on Sunday night, but will not be posting it until sometime Monday, when I can get internet access as explained below. Several days ago we were sitting in Charleston, SC, whose highest point was 10 feet above sea level. Tonight, we are sitting here at Alabama's highest point, 2407 feet, or to be very specific, we are sitting within the 2,719 acre park that includes that highest point. Oh my is it cold! I'm so glad I brought the blankey with the brain! The high today was about 38 degrees. Georgia is truly beautiful even in the dead of winter...I can only imagine what it will look like in the spring. I'm also amazed at how big it is and the number of people here. I managed to catch a cold, so yesterday Annie and I just kind of stayed close to the hotel. I needed to get my hair cut and so we ventured out and found a salon.
