Sep 5, 2011 - "i'm going to write a blog every day"
Definitely failed writing this every day, sorry!!! We've officially had 2 whole weeks of classes in Law School, and this second week has proved much better than the first one. We were finding Constitutional law particularly difficult so crying in Pam's office helped! :) She gave us some emergency galaxy chocolate and said that she would talk to Smolin for us so that was very reassuring! He emailed us and set up a time to meet so we could talk to him. After the talk everything was a little bit better and seems less scary to speak up in...

Sep 3, 2011 - Church, Shopping, Law and a Crazy Tropical Storm
Okkaaayy. So UNFORTUNATELY: I have been the worst blogger ever. FORTUNATELY: This blog will be extra juicy because I have 2 whole weeks to update you on! Well, I made it through orientation week! I am being the model law student at the moment and reading boring books everyday and wearing skirts that almost reach my knees and tops that show zero cleavage. This is either due to the fact 'I have started a new mature chapter of my life' or because of the severe lack of alcohol and single guys to impress... I have also been a model citizen...

Aug 21, 2011 - "going to the movies with blake..we're so american!"
so my promise to myself that I'd write this everyday has failed already! oopps... last time i wrote in it was Wednesday so I'm going to start as if it was Thursday..and try and remember everything that's happened since then..we do so much most days it feels like this first week I've been here has lasted a month! Thursday was, again, more orientation. we had a mock class, where the guy was meant to practise the Socratic method on us but he didn't really, just relied on the keen beans that wanted to volunteer to talk so that was all good. we...

Aug 17, 2011 - Orientation..day 3 'hump' day
It's wednesday and according to pam.. 'hump day' when its the middle of the week and we're over the hump! Another pretty boring day.. but i'm adamant i'm going to write in this everyday just so i can read back on it and remember everything! we overslept this morning...really really reeeallly need to get my sleeping sorted out, so we're going to bed early tonight so that will hopefully help. we've got tons of assignments and reading to do already and everytime i think about it i get a bit stressed, but we're going to go to the library...

Aug 16, 2011 - "we want to sit with the internationals.."
just a realllyyyy quick update today as nothing interesting really happened. it was our second day of orientation and much much much more relaxed and less stressful. we had more talks and more falling asleep, then lunch, then we watched to kill a mocking bird which i had another little nap in so it was quite an easy day. pam did a talk today and introduced us in front of EVERYONE, it was pretty embarrassing we had to stand up right at the front with everyone staring at us. we're like the weird international kids with no friends. fun...

Aug 15, 2011 - Orientation
So today was the first day of Orientation for law students at Cumberland. The day started at 8am and we had to wear suits for our 'face book' year book photos. It was quite an intimidating experience today as all the other law students starting are much older than us having already studied for 3-4 years undergraduate, so even though we should know more law than them..they are much more older and confident and I felt waayyy out of my depth! It stressed me out a bit this morning listening to what we should expect, but I'm still looking...

Aug 15, 2011 - Orientation and the biggest shopping centre I have ever seen!
On Sunday Rosie and I went to another shopping mall. It was an outdoor one and literally the biggest shopping centre I have seen in my life, it's so big you can get a shuttle bus from one half to the other. So many bargains (but don't worry mum I didn't waste my money. We had lunch in an old school diner which had duke boxes and orange soda (with free refills ofcourse). One of the best finds of the day was a foot scrubber that means you don't have to bend down...way to much effort apparently.. In the evening there was an orientation picnic...

Aug 14, 2011 - "i told y'all they were scottish"
Hello! :) Today we went to another mall called The Summit. We had to get a taxi as public transport is non-existent here.. As taxis are pretty uncommon too, it wasn't the nicest of taxis and he wasn't the friendliest of people and a bit put out that he couldn't find us on campus. When he heard our accents again, after speaking on the phone, he said "told y'all they were scottish" which was a bit crazy! Once we'd got to the mall we discovered it was a pretty big place and apparently they drive from one end to the other because its that big....

Aug 13, 2011 - "What do you mean Law?...Oh Laaaaaw.!"
Hey Famalam, Today was fun!! Not such a rush to do loads of things in one day which made it nicer. I have unpacked everything now (thanks mummy for the little surprise in my suitcase). There are some pictures attached of my new room, nice and pink now:) Feels more like my own room now with all of my things in here. We walked to Brookwood mall today. Although nearly didn't make it there because it was so hot, its only like a 20 minute walk but felt like 2 hours in the sun. We went into Maceys!! It wasn't exactly what a expected, a little...

Aug 13, 2011 - "i'm just asking you questions so i can hear more of your accent!"
Hellooooooo :) We woke up pretty early again today at around 6am. I slept in Lauren's room last night whilst we're too scared to sleep in our own rooms! We made the most of getting up early by starting to unpack and make our rooms feel more homely. I put up a few pictures and unpacked my suitcases and its looking much nicer already! I'll take some photos when its tidier! After unpacking we got showered and dressed and ate our breakfast with oreos instead of spoons as we forgot to buy cutlery.. then headed to Brockwood Mall. It was...

Aug 12, 2011 - We're here!
HELLOOO :) After a 9 and a half hour flight to Atlanta, then an hour connection flight to Alabama we are actually here! We got a taxi to our hotel, put our masses of suitcases in our room and then went to explore and get something to eat. After managing to cross a road FINALLY we got to Wild Rock and got dinner. After dinner, more facebooking, we went to bed at 8pm American time which was about 2am at home. We woke up pretty early again because of the time difference at around 5am, then eventually got up at 6. Pam, the Student Services...
