Thirst is about 23 miles northwest of York. It's a quiet short drive to this lovely little town of the famed James Harriot tales. I came here specifically to see the James Harriot museum which is housed in the original Skelsdale house from his famed books- All Creatures Great and Small, and so many more. His son also became a veterinary surgeon and worked in a neighboring town until he retired. He watchs over and narrates the James Harriot museum and all it's holdings. His sister, Rosie, became a doctor in Thirsk and is now retired also. As...
