Mar 5, 2019 - Still Waiting

We're now moored at the lock awaiting our escape tomorrow. This is the barge lock - very long - which is being used at present as the smaller lock is under maintenance until later this month. we walked into the village for a gander - nothing very striking here. Mostly sunny with a breeze today although other parts of the country are apparently experiencing snow and cold winds.

New Adventures

Jun 1, 2011 - Teddington/London

Took a morning walk into Kingston Upon Thames to check out the local shops and markets. Leah had a relaxing manicure and foot spa massage at 'Lofty Spa's' - Thanks Tess & Anna. Caught the train/tube into London, to be greeted by huge numbers of people. Did a short walk around our hostel area, before crashing at 8.30pm.

May 31, 2011 - Teddington/Kingston Upon Thames/Richmond

Walked through Bushy Park(Deer Park 1)to Hampton Court Palace, a rather large home to King Henry VIII. Did our own tour of the Palace and Gardens. Walked along the Thames to Kingston Upon Thames to meet Peter, having our first English pub lunch with Peter. After lunch Peter took us on a driving tour taking in Richmond Park (Deer Park 2) and the local sights, stopping for a take away beer (see photo). A great day ended with a beautiful dinner with Peter, Heather, Tess and Anna at the Wharf Restaurant. However, Dan, Peter and Heather's day...

May 30, 2011 - Arrived Heathrow, London

After a long 26hr flight with 3 stops and endless lunches we finally made it to London. Dan's 2nd cousin(and God Father) Peter Fitzgerald was kind enough to pick us up from the airport and accommodate us for a couple of nights at his lovely home in Teddington. On arrival at Peter's place his youngest daughter Anna had made us a delicious ' Welcome Carrot Cake'. Over a few wines, beers and carrot cake we caught up on everyone's life.
