Aug 20, 2015 - Hay-on-Wye and the Vale of Ewyas

After another day of heavy rain we decided to dodge the rain and visit Hay-on-Wye and then explore the remote Vale of Ewyas. Hay-on-Wye is a small town famous for its second hand book shops and was a nice town to just wander around. From there were took a narrow country road through the remote Vale of Ewyas. We came out onto open moors at Hay Bluff with on a good day would have given panoramic views but with the rain and mist the views were limited. However there were some lovely Welsh ponies with their foals. From there we twisted our way...

May 15, 2010 - Hay-on-Wye

Today I travelled from London to Hay-on-Wye, Wales. I caught a bus at Victoria Coach Station to Hereford and after a bit of a wait, transferred to the bus that would take me to Hay-on-Wye. I stayed at Tinto House bed and breakfast run by the Clares, who are very warm and welcoming people. The ensuite room was fantastic and looked out over the square. I had an absolutely incredible meal at The Old Black Lion Inn: beetroot and feta salad with pinenuts and balsamic vinaigrette, followed by duck breast on mashed parsnips. Met some fellas...
