14 Sept 2012 Weather seemed OK to start the day – bright sunlight and a few clouds. That didn’t last! By the time we got to Chatsworth the drizzle had started. C made a now famous statement – “at least there are no tour buses here”. Of course it was 10:15 and when we went to go in, we were told that it didn’t open until 11. So we filled in a bit of time at the shops in the stable complex, then made our way back to the entrance – by now there were 6 tour buses and another driving in. Sep 13, 2012 - &%*$@! Road and Traffic Engineers!

13 Sept 2012 Well we left York at 10, bound for Haworth in West Yorkshire. We allowed Tom to snooze and decided we could navigate by sticking to numbered roads. These would be easy to follow, you see. You would drive along one until you saw a sign pointing in another direction with the next number on it and off you'd go. How easy would that be?? It was quite easy for the first 20 minutes, then the mental deficiencies of the Road and Traffic Engineers became obvious.
