Even if you weren’t doing a walk along The Cotswold Way you would be tempted to divert off your chosen motorised itinerary to see what a town intriguingly named Wotton-Under-Edge could offer. We were not to discover the town’s delights though until about 8 hours after stepping out from Rose Nook into a gem of a day. This day proved to be the hardest walking to date with uphill right from the beginning; the entire day’s travel being a rollercoaster of hills, valleys peppered with gentle meadows, occasional farm houses and gentle brooks.
