We left York and headed east to Scarborough. We had booked in for a week at a campground just outside Scarborough to allow us time to explore the Yorkshire coastline and the North Yorkshire Moors. On our first day we headed out to Ravenscar just north of Scarborough. From Ravenscar you get great views of the coastline and Robin Hood Bay. So we went to Scarborough today. It's the place from the song by the group I don't know the name of. We've been sooo blessed up until today to have had beautiful weather, even though northern England is normally always cold and rainy. Until today, that is... it was cold and freezing all day. We had outdoor stuff planned, but the weather was bad... so we made the most of it and went to the mall. :) And to top that off, I went to pizza hut, that's right, pizza hut. Love it.

On Saturday, I traveled over to Scarborough which is on the English Channel in the Northeast of England about 1 3/4 hr drive south from my flat in Yarm. It's a lovely drive by mostly on country back roads with speeds dropping to 30 mph as one travels through the villages in the English countryside. Well we have been back in the UK for six weeks now and have never stopped working. All those jobs that needed doing on our return including the removal of a dead and highly pungent "RAT" from our utility room roof had to be done. Hello! Well, as I'm writing this I'm sitting in my room in boring old Guisborough, but if you're reading this then I'm in Mexico - finally!!! I can't believe it's come around so quickly and I'm actually off. We're spending a month in Mexico, starting in Cancun for a bit of a break, and then moving on to Peru for the dreaded Inca Trail (hopefully all that gym work paid off.) Spent weekend with Korina exploring some of the more touristy attractions in the North of England. Saturday was spent walking around York, looking at the medieval architecture and attending a food and wine festival. Pretty crazy little streets, amusingly enough called 'the Shambles'. We are now in Yorkshire! We don't have internet access from our cottage, so we have found a cafe where we can access it for a short time. Our last days in Royal Tunbridge Wells were very nice as we continued to "play house" at the Fenbys'. We enjoyed their big kitchen and all their cool kitchen gadgets -- a great improvement from those little corner things we had in Paris. After checking out of the Sevenways this morning, we walked around Buxton a bit. It is a surprising little town with an apparently thriving arts community. They even have a Theatre Fringe Festival, which was gearing up to start on Friday the 8th. There were banners going up and barriers, and a trailer with a sign reading "Festival Office and Information."
