Well finally found wifi! But then again hadn't really looked to hard, been so busy! We had an awesome flight. The A380 stopping in Singapore for only one hour,no I didn't get put in jail. Arrived at Huge Heathrow greeted by blue as blue sky and sunshine at 6am We took another light to Manchester all of half hour, seemed like nothing compared to the 23hr flight. Our hire car is a little ripper, hoots along but no where near as fast as the mad drivers doing 150 klm hr! Still it all moves perfectly. We headed for Nottingham about one hours drive...

NED on Tour! 2011

Sep 4, 2010 - On to Robyn Hode Territory

Now before you start on me about my spelling, the earliest surviving ballad of Robin Hood is "A Gest of Robyn Hode", about a fugitive from justice in about 1225. Stories have now been told for over 600 years of Robin Hood (or Robyn Hode as I prefer to call him now!) and his band of Merry Men, but likely the ballads and stories were a mixture of various colourful characters, along with metaphors for the fight of the common man against the authority figures of the time. Sherwood Forest, where Robyn, a master bowman and fearless outlaw, hid...

Sep 26, 2009 - Have arrived!

London to Hong Kong the long way (and possibly the wrong way). Qatar Airways to Doha, 6 hours 30 mins, 6 hour wait in Dohar then 8 hours 45 mins Dohar to Hong Kong, total 21 hours 15 mins !! One compensation, well looked after on both flights, 5 star airline. Hong Kong - city of contrasts - clean, ultra modern Metro and buildings right alongside run down and impoverished buildings and people. Ripped off by taxi driver who dumped me at the wrong hotel.

Sep 24, 2009 - Nottingham

I have been signed up to a blog, so am now obliged to use one... Day -1: I am leaving tomorrow, I am really excited but most of all, my friends have made it really hard for me to leave as I have been treated and fussed over for 2 weeks. I am mostly packed up and ready. My ipod is rubbish; it has selfishly run out of memory space and I can't take any new music with me. I will really miss new music, but not Starbuck's cause apparently they have those all over the world..... I will try and write something interesting when I arrive in Bangkok....

Sep 16, 2009 - Stonehenge, Bath & Nottingham - in 1 day !

First on the list today is Stonehenge, but only after yet another bacon and egg, full English breakfast which of course was included in our Bed&Breakfast. We headed out and found Stonehenge, which Colin had described to us as ‘a bunch of lego blocks in a field’. The site is quite breathtaking. They give you your personal electronic tour guide which you listen too as you make your way around the stones. It was a great place to visit we spent over an hour at the site, despite the howling wind. After Stonehenge we travelled onto the town of...
