A bright sunny day greeted us as we left Painswick on our relatively short day’s stroll of 15 km to Middleyard. Not only were we blessed with warmth but Mother Nature had snuffed out the wind that seemed every present over the previous three days. It really was a bit of a stroll today; welcome after four continuous days walking. And there were not many ups and downs. We indulged in pleasantries with a farmer out side his home which stood by a stream that chatted its way over pebble and rock and which in previous times, powered mills...
