Tuesday 26th was changeover day. Penny and Wendy returned to London, and Robert and Millie arrived from London. The day was nasty, but we went for a drive down to Hastings for Ruegg family business, and home via Rye (another cream tea dammit) to Roast Lamb.....woohoo....

Oct 25, 2010 - Bodium Castle & Sheffield Park Gardens
Today dawned cool but clearing. We set out for Bodiam Castle, and started with a cream tea morning tea, for which I have much pennance to perform upon my return. I also joined Helen and I up to the National Trust after our tour. We went back to Sissinghurst for lunch, and the picked Sheffield Park Garden as an afternoon venture. The small roads in Kent proved to be fantastic....autumn colours, and "tree tunnels" as Robert and Millie later called them. Sheffield Park was even more wonderful. Aug 13, 2010 - Oostend to Hastings (Chunnel)
A quick breakfast and walk through Ooestend, which had a strange 1970’s east block “once luxurious” feel to it. A good reminder about real estate; it can depreciate if it is not maintained constantly. With the casino and ocean there, maybe it was more like a European Atlantic city? The demographics were much older than Marburg and Amsterdam where everyone seemed much younger, and the towns more vibrant.
