We had a list of villages that we thought looked interesting so set off the southern most lot. Bourton on Water was said to be one of the prettiest. All the street parking was taken so we found a metered parking area, which by the time we left was also packed including 6-8 tourist buses. Yve took to the shops and Mike and I began a tour of the town including some winding side streets. I only saw a few people, some on horses. Europe 2012

Sep 23, 2008 - Cotswolds

The ferry trip across from Ireland was much slower this time so it made for a pretty long day by the time we arrived in the Cotswolds. The weather has been absolutely glorious. Still cool in the evenings but lovely and sunny and warm during the day. We are staying at a little town called Cirencester which is the oldest market town in the Cotswold area. Aug 30, 2007 - Touring the Cotswolds

My time in the Cotswolds has been very pleasant indeed. Nice and relaxing starting with a mid morning coffee and a browse around the Cirencester shops before heading off to find a good pub for lunch. But we did do some sight seeing along the way both before and after. The Cotswolds is similar to much of England with quaint stone walls and lovely stone houses but the difference comes from the colour of the stone. Denise's UK Holiday

Aug 28, 2007 - Catching up with Em in Cirencester

After leaving Winchester, I headed on to Cirencester, my main goal for the day. I was here to spend time catching up with Emma and Mark and to meet their little baby boy, Hunter. Who is just adorable. Both Em and I have come along way since we did triathlons together and it was really nice to just relax and spend time catching up. And of course, Em took me on some lunchtime tours of some fantastic little pubs while she showed me around the very scenic areas of the Cotswolds. But more on that tomorrow..

Denise's UK Holiday

May 3, 2007 - Cirencester

The sun is taking longer and longer to come out in the morning. But it isn't raining, so no reason NOT to take another walk. Alison, Patricia's friend and neighbour in Blockley, is a garden designer who is busy with her own private business. Today she has to go to Cirencester and Cheltenham to see some clients, and she has been kind enough to let me tag along with her.
