For those of you who don't have a clue about this area - me included, Fujairah is one of the countries of the United Arab Emirates. Khor Fakkan is a town located along the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The town is set on the picturesque bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". Khor Fakkan belongs to the emirate of Sharjah but is geographically surrounded by the emirate of Fujairah. We boarded our ship, The Regent Seven Seas Mariner in Dubai on November 8th… and were eager to see the ship, as it’s our first time on the Regent line. Regent Seven Seas is owned by the same company as owns Oceania, who we’ve sailed with a number of times. We really like the ship… while it sails with the same number of passengers (700), it is a larger vessel (maybe 50% bigger) with much larger public areas (pool deck, restaurants, shops, theater). Jun 21, 2009 - From the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman
This weekend we went to Fujairah a town about 2 hours away from Dubai. Chris took me there for my birthday which was on the 8th!! It was great to go somewhere new and just relax and reconnect. With both of us being so busy and Chris settling into a new job we've barely seen each other these last couple of months so this trip was well deserved. There are apparently some really nice snorkelling spots around Fujairah however we just ate and drank and lay by the pool!! it was perfect. Maybe next time we'll do some more exploring :) We came back...
