Dec 5, 2015 - Fujairah-Home Via Back Roads

Check out at the hotel is not until noon so the three of us can enjoy a little breakfast and coffee on our deck facing a small green space which leads to the beach. The basic plan is to head to the other end of Fujairah Corniche area for a walk and lunch before we hit the side roads to get back to Abu Dhabi. The corniche ended up being underwhelming so we continued to drive along the ocean as far as we could until we found the small side road to take us through the mountain range inland. It wasn't far when camels in the ditch and crossing...

Dec 4, 2015 - Fujairah Weekend

Al and his brother took an opportunity to golf at the Abu Dhabi Golf Course Thursday as the price to golf this very nice course was discounted. Once they were home packing for our weekend trip to Fujairah was in order. Friday morning we left the house at about 9:15am so that we could take leisurely drive on as many backroads as possible on the way to Fujairah. Taking the main highway the trip should ably take about 2.5 hours but with all our unplanned stops we arrive for check in at about 5pm. The Dubai rugby sevens tournament was close to...

Mar 7, 2014 - Fujairah via Oman

That was such a crazy trip to Fujairah. I went with Cam and some of his friends and Quintin went with Rene and his wife. Cam and I left at 8:30, met up with everyone at 9 am and then we were on the road. Passed through Oman and arrived in Hatta for a late breakfast at 10 am. Went through the mountains to the coast and then followed the coast up to Fujairah. We stopped at the hatch club until it was time to go to the hotel and check in. Was Avery beautiful trip. Quintin left Dubai just after 10 and made it to the resort shortly afternoon....

Apr 14, 2012 - Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, U.A.E.

For those of you who don't have a clue about this area - me included, Fujairah is one of the countries of the United Arab Emirates. Khor Fakkan is a town located along the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The town is set on the picturesque bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". Khor Fakkan belongs to the emirate of Sharjah but is geographically surrounded by the emirate of Fujairah. It is a natural deep water port that is now a major container terminal and today, surrounded by many container...

Nov 9, 2010 - Fujairah (UAE)

We boarded our ship, The Regent Seven Seas Mariner in Dubai on November 8th… and were eager to see the ship, as it’s our first time on the Regent line. Regent Seven Seas is owned by the same company as owns Oceania, who we’ve sailed with a number of times. We really like the ship… while it sails with the same number of passengers (700), it is a larger vessel (maybe 50% bigger) with much larger public areas (pool deck, restaurants, shops, theater). We are happy with our room. First stop is Fujairah, a very busy container port and a favorite...

Jun 21, 2009 - From the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman

This weekend we went to Fujairah a town about 2 hours away from Dubai. Chris took me there for my birthday which was on the 8th!! It was great to go somewhere new and just relax and reconnect. With both of us being so busy and Chris settling into a new job we've barely seen each other these last couple of months so this trip was well deserved. There are apparently some really nice snorkelling spots around Fujairah however we just ate and drank and lay by the pool!! it was perfect. Maybe next time we'll do some more exploring :) We came back...
