Feb 23 Arrived safe and sound in Chernivtsi, to a warm welcoming committee, Auntie Maria and my 6yr old cousin Diana. How kind, they brought me a bouquet of carnations, I have only met Auntie Maria twice when she visited Canada several years ago, she absolutely looks great and Diana is wonderful. We headed to Kitsman, the village close to where Auntie and Uncle live. It is a quaint village, bustling with school kids and elderly people visiting the markets and corner stores, a nice place. Oct 25, 2008 - Chernivtsi, But Only For A Night

We traveled from Kamenets to Chernivtsi, a medium-sized city in southwest Ukraine, near the Romanian border. We left Kamenets because it does not have direct bus routes to Suceava, Romania – our next stop. Chernivtsi was recommended to us as a decent place to spend a night, so off we went. We arrived in Chernivtsi in the early evening, just as it was getting dark. Helped by a young Ukrainian who had studied in the States, we bought our bus tickets for Romania for the early next day.
