Pamukkale was a 4 hour bus ride east of Selcuk and is a small town based solely on tourism. The white cliffs just behind the city offer a spectacular backdrop and are calcium deposits spread around and formed into cliffs by the warm spring water that flows from below the earth's surface. It has, in the past, been a popular destination for many who bathe in its spring water.
