After 18hrs of travel from Cappadocia, Kas was a sight for sore eyes. Not only was the weather beautiful (Cappadocia got as cold as 10 degrees) at 27 degrees, but we ended up finishing up our Scuba certification. We learned upon arrival that the small fishing village was known for offering Turkey's best dive sites so we thought we would take advantage. Kas was also great in that it offered a bit more of a fun, young vibe than we had experienced to date as well a much needed variation on the Turkish cuisine.

Oct 20, 2004 - Kalkan for R & R

Well, I have finally had some help to figure out how to put in the photos! After leaving Selcik we took a bus for too many hours, ie: 6, to get to Fethiye, quite a large coastal town that had very few redeeming features that I could discover as we drove through to the 'Otogar', bus station. Terefore, we quickly jumped onto the next available dolmus to reach this 'idyllic, tuquoise lagoon and bay' area described in the travel books.
