Datca ... we got here, no problem after a beautiful day drive down the peninsula. The road can be bad at times and with its distance from airports, the town has been kept off the tourist route. Those that come here to vacation are mostly Turkish and Germans ... but right now it is dead. Most hotels are shut down and beaches are almost empty. The good thing is ... that it feels like you are in Turkey!!! Finally!!! Very little english spoken ... lots of great smells and incredibly friendly and welcoming people. Aug 25, 2012 - WWOOFing No. 2

For our next WOOFing farm, we headed south on dolmus and bus, then an hour's trip west along the Datca peninsula, almost to the end, to a remote valley.  The peninsula is rocky and mountainous with spectacular sea views from the road but obviously suited to growing pine trees, almonds and olives and producing delicious honey. Knidia Farm is in a beautiful valley one km from the beach and 3 1/2 km on a dusty gravel road from the nearest little town.  It has about 12 acres around the house with grape vines and mainly olive and almond trees,...
