Feb 27, 2012 - Brad’s Second and Most Certainly Last Entry...Haha
It’s 6:00 am. I sit at our outdoor kitchen table; coffee in hand, sun just coming up, roosters crowing, dogs barking in the distance, a cool breeze blowing, and I can’t believe it’s been 4 months already. Two days until we are home in Canada, and there is sadness in me. Though I am happy to be coming home to visit family and friends, Thailand is a crazy place that draws you and is hard to leave. When you first arrive at the airport in Bangkok your tired and excited. The next day proves to be one of awe and shock to where you really are......

Feb 22, 2012 - Home in Six Days!
Sawatee caa! It’s hard to believe that we will be on a plane heading home in 6 days! In some ways it’s felt like it’s been a long time because we have seen & done so much & in some ways it feels like we just got here. The last couple weeks have been a lot of fun. It’s been a busy month in the door to door work. After spending mornings doing that we have been taking advantage of the beach while we still have it close by. We have also taken a day each week to explore the area surrounding Hua Hin. Two weeks ago Andres, Mimi & their boys,...

Feb 6, 2012 - Everyday Life...
Just thought I would give a quick message to everyone. I haven't been able to write because we have no internet at the new house. That is OK though because it's been a good change. We moved last Wednesday, surprised when Ped & Son dusted off an old car from the garage for us to use in moving our stuff. They were so excited we were moving into their house. It took pretty much all afternoon to move. It's amazing how much we collected over just a few short months. We loaded up the car once & then did about 3 trips on the scooter with small...

Jan 31, 2012 - Cambodia Pictures
Ok ok...I promise NO more pictures...for a while anyways! ;-) As I look back through these Cambodia pictures, they really warm my heart. I think Cambodia was one of the most beautiful countries we saw. It was unique in it's beauty. It seemed more simple. Maybe I relate to the country life being from Alberta. The sights we saw from the boat trip were amazing. Again, as always in Asia, people smiling and waving. Kids running down from their simple school house on stilts to watch the boat go by to yell & wave. I did a lot of reflecting on that...

Jan 29, 2012 - Vietnam Pictures
I apologize for posting so many pictures at once but we are moving into a house that doesn't have internet, so I wanted to get them all up before we move. New news for this week: We had an AMAZING day in the door to door work on Saturday! We stayed out until 3pm. We are starting to learn more Thai phrases now...& I mean starting. We have a short sentence to ask if there are any foreigners in the area. It is difficult with the tones. If you don't say it just so it either means a different word completely or just a sound coming out of your...

Dec 14, 2011 - Good Bye Hua Hin (only for now!)
Tomorrow morning we leave back to Bangkok. First thing on the agenda is to head to the train station & buy our over night train ticket. Then we have to waste the day in the city with our backpacks (not to excited about that) & leave at 7:30 pm on the train to Chiang Mai. It gets in at around noon the following day, so it will be nice to sleep most of the way. We don’t have anywhere booked to stay yet but there are so many guesthouses it shouldn’t be a problem. We already have the address for the Kingdom Hall as well. I never realized that...

Dec 10, 2011 - A Massage From "Big Momma"
It hasn’t been that long since I last wrote but I’m missing everyone so I thought I’d say hi. It seems like not much has happened but we always seem to be going & going. We don’t spend much time in the apartment, always out exploring here & there. Yesterday it poured rain until about 4 o clock. That’s the first real rain day we’ve had. It sprinkled off & on one day & that’s all we’ve had. It was strange to have it grey & wet all day when it is usually blue skies & sun! It cleaned the air & settled the dust though. It made me put jeans & a...

Dec 7, 2011 - 3 On The Hog
It’s been a busy week. I have to sit & think about each day to remember everything. I guess I can start with picking up Bryce in Bangkok. Brad & I didn’t seem to enjoy Bangkok as much this time. It seemed like we were getting ripped off (more than usual). We stayed at the same hotel as the first couple nights after we got here. It’s a nice place – although a little expensive. So we stayed only one night. While we were waiting at the airport for Bryce we got talking to a man that suggested another place near the airport for $19, I’ll tell...

Dec 1, 2011 - So Many New Friends!
We’ve had a great last few days! I thought I’d save it up for one entry. It was a busy week with the visit of the Thai travelling circuit overseer. The Kingdom Hall was PACKED on Tuesday night because both the English group & Thai congregation had the meeting together. I’m not sure there were any empty seats! Again, the absolute BEST part was the singing because this time it was multi-lingual! There was Thai, English, Sweden, Finnish & possibly Norwegian – all singing the same song together. I will try to record it tonight! The meeting...

Nov 27, 2011 - The last few days...
We haven't had an exciting last few days but it's been nice to relax. We've been on the go it seems since we got here & now that we have pretty much everything we need we can relax more. We added a new kitchen appliance to our T.V. stand - a toaster! We couldn't do the plain bread in the morning anymore so we are quite excited about this. We have figured out where all the stores anyone would need are. There are department stores like The Bay for everything you'd need for your home. There's electronic stores. There's lighting stores &...

Nov 14, 2011 - A BBQ with Friends & Feeding ELEPHANTS!
It’s been a busy weekend! Friday we found a nice little beach called Sai Noi. There were maybe a dozen white people there & besides the vendors that snuck their way in it was nice and relaxing. I got a good burn – not that anyone feels sorry for me ;-) Saturday was one of the best days so far! In the morning we went out in the field ministry (door to door). There was about 15 altogether. There are 3 more families & a couple more single people here now for anywhere from 4-7 months. We are the only Canadians, everyone else is either from...

Nov 10, 2011 - Headed to Malaysia
This morning we went to talk to the head of immigration to see if there was anything they could do for us. All we need is a month extension, long enough to be able to pick up Bryce, get our Vietnam visas & be gone to Laos. But no such luck. We doubted it anyways. SO the plan is to go to Penang Malaysia next week & get the tourist visa we SHOULD have got in Canada before we left. Honestly though even with the cost of travel it would have been the same price either way. I guess this way we get more adventure. We were going to take the train...
