Kaohsiung is the second largest city in Taiwan...second to Taipei. It's also Sonnie's home town, so I had the ultimate tour guide to this city. I really liked Kaohsiung. It was much cleaner than Taipei and the streets were more manageable. Sonnie took us around on her scooter, weaving in and out of traffic and getting us everywhere in record time. Ni Hao! We enjoyed our time back in Taiwan...our home away from home for two years of our lives. For the week we were there, we stayed with our friend Karim, who was also a teacher at KNS' with us six years ago. He was back again for another stint. It was nice to be back to visit the old haunts and see some familiar faces again. Things have changed quite a bit back in Taiwan...new, more modern-looking buildings, less chaotic traffic, and a general cleaner appearance. Ni Hao! I had a terrific time in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Mr. and Mrs. Shackleford were both English teachers for two years at the KNS' Language Institute. They taught here six years ago. It was so much fun getting to see their old school and home.
